Proofpoint Inc. has launched a formal OEM program that lets technology providers, cybersecurity vendors, managed services firms, and platform companies integrate its threat intelligence and detection tools into their own products. The company unveiled the Proofpoint OEM Program at Black Hat USA 2026, formalizing what had been informal partnerships and opening a clearer path for partners to embed Proofpoint's security capabilities without building their own global-scale threat intelligence operations.

The program offers OEM-ready solutions that partners can embed across network security, firewalls, vulnerability management, SIEM, XDR, SOAR, managed detection and response, threat intelligence platforms, and AI security tools. Proofpoint is introducing Active Exploits Protection as the initial offering and plans to add more OEM-ready solutions over time. The company positions the program as a way to cut the time, cost, and complexity of maintaining in-house threat intelligence infrastructure while helping partners speed up product development, differentiate their offerings, and improve security outcomes for end customers.

"Proofpoint has supported OEM relationships for years, and the Proofpoint OEM Program now provides technology partners with a clearer, more formal way to engage with us," said Stan de Boisset, SVP of Global Channels at Proofpoint. According to de Boisset, making Active Exploits Protection available through a dedicated OEM program helps partners "accelerate innovation, differentiate their products, and deliver more prioritized, explainable, and AI-ready security experiences for their customers." The company says the program is open for business immediately and will grow as new products reach market readiness.

The program lets partners tap mature intelligence backed by Proofpoint's research team rather than operating their own extensive threat intelligence infrastructure. Partners can add trusted context to alerts, streamline investigation workflows, support actionable reporting, and build AI-powered security features grounded in continuously refreshed intelligence. The approach gives technology providers a faster route to market while freeing engineering teams to concentrate on distinctive platform features instead of running global intelligence operations. End customers stand to gain more relevant threat context, better prioritization, deeper investigations, and more transparent AI-driven security tools, according to Proofpoint.

The formalization of Proofpoint's OEM channel signals the company's intent to broaden its reach beyond direct sales and into embedded security layers across the vendor ecosystem. The program positions Proofpoint to compete not just as a standalone security provider but as an intelligence backbone for other platforms, particularly as AI-assisted security features become table stakes. For partners weighing build-versus-buy decisions on threat intelligence, the choice now hinges on whether proprietary control justifies the operational overhead that Proofpoint is offering to eliminate.
