Swap Commerce has purchased Vizby, a Shopify-native AI visibility platform, to bring AI-powered product discovery to the front end of its agentic commerce suite, according to an announcement published on Oct. 1, 2026. The transaction, whose financial details weren't disclosed, extends Swap's end-to-end solution from discovery through checkout, fulfillment and returns. The deal marks Swap Commerce's first acquisition since launching its agentic Storefront and Checkout+ modules earlier this year.
Vizby's technology audits a brand's presence across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Microsoft Copilot, benchmarks performance against competitors, and automatically generates structured data, schema and editorial content directly within Shopify. Early customers have already seen measurable results: VIGO Industries reported a 91.3% rise in AI-generated sessions within two weeks of implementation, with AI-driven traffic accounting for roughly 3% of total revenue after schema and content enhancements. The platform transforms a passive visibility report into an actionable engine that attributes revenue and feeds downstream checkout and fulfillment functions.
"Every brand we talk to has the same first question about agentic commerce: will AI recommend me?" said Sam Atkinson, Founder and CEO of Swap Commerce. Co-founder Eylon Zefania added that joining Swap Commerce allows Vizby's technology to "become part of a platform that can act on that visibility and carry the customer journey forward, all the way through to the sale and the delivery." The acquisition brings the first AI discovery layer, branded as Swap Discovery, to a platform that already spans storefront, checkout, fulfillment and returns.
The report notes that by offering a unified stack, Swap can pitch higher-margin, end-to-end contracts to enterprise e-commerce brands, improving net revenue retention and reducing churn risk associated with multi-vendor integrations. Historically, AI discovery startups have fetched 10 to 15 times ARR multiples, especially when they show clear revenue-attribution capabilities. By integrating Vizby's visibility engine, Swap can now capture incremental AI-originated ARR that previously would have been siloed, potentially boosting its overall ARR growth rate into the high-double-digit range. For investors, the transaction underscores the premium placed on end-to-end stack ownership: platforms that can claim the entire shopper journey are likely to command higher valuation multiples than point-solution peers.
For Vizby's existing customer base, the deal unlocks immediate access to Swap's checkout and fulfillment capabilities, turning discovery gains into measurable order value without additional integration effort. The report concludes that as AI agents become the default entry point for online shopping, platforms that embed discovery, checkout and logistics in a single SaaS stack are positioned to dominate the next wave of e-commerce growth. The ability to attribute AI-driven traffic to specific SKUs enhances upsell and cross-sell opportunities, improving net revenue retention and justifying higher subscription pricing. Competitors such as Shopify's native AI tools or niche AI-discovery startups will now face a platform that not only reports visibility gaps but also automates the remediation within the same workflow, pressuring other AI-visibility vendors to either partner or consolidate to stay relevant.
