Broadcom placed fifth in execution and seventh in vision, while HCLSoftware came in fifth in vision and sixth in execution. Beta Systems Software ranked sixth in vision and seventh in execution. Twelve vendors total appeared on Gartner's quadrant, with five others—Rocket Software, Resolve, Decisions, Absyss and JAMS—not reaching the leader category.
Gartner projects that by 2029, 75 percent of service orchestration and automation platform workflows will use generative AI to boost troubleshooting efficiency by 50 percent, up from less than 20 percent in 2026. By 2030, the research firm expects 50 percent of service orchestration and automation platform activity will be started by AI agents, climbing from less than 5 percent in 2026. Redwood maintains a co-development integration with SAP and serves as the only workload automation vendor recognized as an SAP Endorsed App, yet customers frequently cite frustration with sales execution during contract renewals, noting unexpected price escalations and aggressive pushes for expanded licensing. IBM has integrated AI into the execution layer of its IWA platform, including watsonx Orchestrate to enable governed agentic AI, though clients operating in dynamic cloud environments report unpredictability due to licensing metrics. Stonebranch offers a Universal Portal that enables nontechnical users to build and monitor complex automations via self-service without writing scripts, but the platform currently lacks built-in AI capabilities to recommend structural workflow design changes. Broadcom integrated Agentic AI Jobs into its Automic Automation platform, with autonomous AI agents that analyze dynamic data and execute complex remediation, though some customers report commercial friction, specifically citing significant price increases during contract renewals. HCLSoftware embeds agentic automation directly into its core engine via a native MCP server and AI agents that can analyze operational anomalies and execute remediation paths, but has lower brand awareness in stand-alone software evaluations compared with other leaders. Beta Systems Software has integrated an AI coding assistant that converts natural language into structured automation scripts and an OpenTelemetry-native monitoring layer, though its marketing, sales and support footprints remain concentrated in Western Europe with a limited network of global system integrators.

The platforms excel at integrating with DevOps tools and data pipelines while helping organizations lower costs through optimization.
